Private black-and-white darkroom bays at our Bushwick lab, equipped for 35mm, 120, and large-format printing. Walk in with a contact sheet, walk out with prints.
What's Inside
Everything you need to make a print.
Each bay is set up for a single user, with chemistry trays, running water, a working safelight, and an enlarger you will actually want to use. Bring paper, negatives, and your eye.
Bay A
Condenser enlarger
Condenser head with a variable-contrast module. 35mm and medium-format carriers in the bay, with larger carriers available on request.
Bay B
Diffusion enlarger
Diffusion head with a Multigrade module and carriers up to large format - the better choice for medium- and large-format work.
Both bays
Chemistry & sinks
Developer, stop, and fixer in standard trays, plus running water, a drying line, a timer, and an analyzer if you want it. Chemistry is on us.
Rates
Pay for the time you're in there.
Hourly with a short minimum, with discounts for members and for blocks of time. Paper is sold separately at the front counter - a rotating selection of resin and fiber stocks.

First Time?
A one-hour orientation, and you're set.
New renters do a short walkthrough with one of our techs - chemistry handling, enlarger operation, where we keep the easels, and how we clean up. After that, you can book any time the bays are open.

Book the orientation
Bring a roll you have already developed and an idea of what you want to print.

Reserve a bay
Online or at the counter. We hold the time for ten minutes past your start, then may release it.

You have the bay to yourself. We are next door if you need anything. Clean up at the end - we will show you what that means.
